No. Patients must be uninsured to be eligible for the reduced self-pay rates. “Uninsured” is defined as those patients who are not enrolled in either a government sponsored insurance, private insurance or whose services are part of a third party liability case, such as Worker’s Compensation, Personal Injury, etc.
Qualification Criteria:
• Patient must be uninsured.
• Patient must not qualify for Connecticut Medicaid.
• Uninsured patients who are eligible for financial assistance will have the self-pay discount applied prior to any financial assistance adjustments being applied.
Exclusion Criteria:
• “Underinsured patients” or patients who have health insurance and have an out-of-pocket responsibility for a given service such as a co-pay, co-insurance and/or deductible amount.
• Patients who have insurance, yet their insurance plan does not cover a specific service under the benefit plan under any circumstance.
